How You Can Help True Care This Spring - Part 2
This year marks True Care’s 31st year serving women of Casper and the surrounding area who experience unplanned pregnancies. Nearly 13 years ago, we became a medical clinic, more effectively serving women at risk for abortion by providing limited ultrasound and STD testing and treatment conducted by professionally trained registered nurses.
We continue developing and expanding programs to be relevant to our target patient and to serve them with excellence. This year we are implementing Fathering in 15, a men’s program created by the National Fatherhood Initiative to coincide with our Baby & Me parenting program. We look forward to seeing how God will work through this additional resource offering!
However, we cannot do what we do without support. As spring rolls into view, there are several opportunities for people to help us help the women, men, and babies that we serve.
- We are part of the AmazonSmile charity campaign, and this month Amazon is increasing their donation. So, if you order by March 31, True Care will receive additional funds! Whether you buy books, clothes, household goods, pet products, or children’s toys, you can contribute to True Care! Simply go to https://smile.amazon.com/ before placing your order and designate The Caring Center, Inc. (our corporate name) as your charity of choice. True Care will receive a donation from your purchase.
- Our second annual Hymn Sing for Life takes place Sunday, April 8 at Grace Reformed Church at City Park (formerly First Presbyterian Church). If the old-time hymns like Amazing Grace and Be Thou My Vision stir your soul, then join us for this fun, family fundraiser! Ashley Bright of the Boys and Girls Club serves as MC, a community choir leads the singing, and Dr. Eric Unruh from Casper College will be guest organist. People will have opportunity to vote (with their checkbooks) which hymns will be featured at the end of the program – the top four will be selected, played, and sung. Church doors open at 3 pm on April 8, and the fun begins at 4 pm. Last year, True Care received nearly $16,000 from the inaugural event; our goal for 2018 is $20,000. Come make a joyful noise to our Lord the Sunday following Easter, and help True Care continue its life-saving work!
- True Care’s Run/Walk for Life is set for June 2 this year. Plans are still in the works for this important annual event, but please mark your calendars. Once again, we’ll be at the North Casper Athletic Complex, along K Street across from the Boys and Girls Club. Sponsored walkers are vital to bringing in funds needed to support the ministry and its programs. So, make plans to either run or walk for life this year, and be a hero for the women of our community and their unborn!
